I have been working for 20+ years with children in various capacities. My journey in social service began with a deep-seated desire to bring about meaningful change in the lives of the underprivileged, particularly children and women in rural environments.

Foundations & Early Career

NGO Leadership (SECURE): From 2004 to 2012, I worked with SECURE (Socio-economic & cultural upliftment in rural environment), gaining firsthand experience in rural development and social upliftment.

All India Radio: I served in the Child and Women programmes department at All India Radio. As an announcer and department member, I had the unique opportunity to interact with children and discuss issues affecting women and families across the region.

Alternative Education

I founded and ran an alternative school for rural children for nine years. This initiative was born from a critical need: there was no government school nearby, and low-income parents could not afford private education. My focus was threefold:

• Addressing the lack of accessible education for rural families.
• Implementing alternative education models based on developmental psychology, linking mental and physical health with a foundation of unconditional love and freedom.
• Minimizing school dropouts by providing a joyful, pressure-free learning environment.

After nine successful years, I initiated efforts to establish a government school in the area. I offered my school premises to the government rent-free and transitioned all my students to the public system to ensure their continued education was free and sustainable. This experience served as deep research into the child's mind—understanding their needs for flowering and holistic development.

Child Welfare & Advocacy (2018 - 2021)

I served in the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and eventually as its Chairperson. This role gave me an intimate look at the conditions of orphanages and the complex issues facing the girl child. My school experience proved invaluable, allowing me to build deep trust and rapport with children, making them feel free to share their problems.

CWC Initiatives:

• Interacted with and rehabilitated neglected children, addressing issues like child marriage.
• Monitored and trained the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU).
• Trained NGOs managing children's homes on the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ-ACT).
• Counseled 46 girls who had been sexually abused, creating a deep sense of safety to help them overcome fear and begin healing.

This journey has been one of great personal growth, reinforcing my commitment to bringing about change through direct experience and empathetic action.
